India Couture Week 2024 : Disco Mujra by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

Published

on

When it comes to haute fashion, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are India’s original designers. With their unparalleled artistry and passion for traditional Indian weaves and processes, the designer pair, who first opened a tiny boutique in 1986 named Mata Hari in Mumbai, has endured over the years. It seemed only fitting that the renowned designers would kick off Hyundai India Couture Week with a lavish display of menswear and womenswear creations called Disco Mujra.

With their labels Asal and Mard, the legendary partnership of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla oversaw the first show, fusing traditional fabrics and embroidery with contemporary styles. The “Regal Groom of Mard” had striking borders and dramatic embroidery, while the “Asal Bride” embraced tradition with a dash of contemporary grace. Heroined in hues of red, gold, green, and pearl, lehengas were embellished with Zardozi and Gota work, capturing all the royal drama of a conventional Indian wedding. Furthermore, we are unable to criticise the show-stoppers Taha Shah Badussha and Wamiqa Gabbi, who just amazed us.

The lavish fine jewels by G K Chudiwala matched the distinctive sartorial looks, and the “disco mujra” music and haveli-inspired background provided the ideal atmosphere. Glamour, original music, dance, and, of course, the designers’ signature wow factor—the show had it all. The collection paid homage to the flawless craftsmanship and time-honoured legacy of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s designs by marrying classic components with a fresh viewpoint that delved deep into our vast archives.

All About The Emmys 2024

Published

on

The Emmys are almost here! Wait, didn’t we just have the Emmys? Well, sort of. In January 2024, the 2023 Emmys—postponed due to the strikes—finally took place, even though it was 2024 by then, and some of the shows being honored were from 2022. Now, the actual 2024 Emmys are on their way, set to celebrate the best in television from June 2023 through May 2024. This means the highly praised second season of *The Bear* will get its moment before the less-enthusiastically received third season comes up for awards next year. It’s all a bit confusing, we know. But it’s good to see the TV awards show back on track and not jammed into the middle of awards season again—that was just too much. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about the second 2024 Emmys.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Emmys:

The father-son duo, Eugene and Dan Levy, who famously starred together in *Schitt’s Creek*, will be hosting the ceremony. “For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough,” they shared in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all on Sept. 15.”

Craig Erwich, the president of Disney Television Group, praised the Levys, saying, “Eugene’s and Dan’s comedic intuition and uncanny ability to capture the hearts of viewers will make for a memorable Emmys telecast honoring this year’s best and brightest.”

Eugene Levy is also nominated at this year’s Emmys for his show *The Reluctant Traveler*. Back in 2020, the Levys made history as the first father and son to win awards in the same year. This year, they’ll achieve another milestone by becoming the first father-son duo to host the awards show.

At the 76th Annual Emmys, the Japanese drama *Shōgun* leads the nominations with 25, while *The Bear* earned 23 nominations—setting a new record for the most nominations in a single year by a comedy.

The Emmys will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, September 15, at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC, with a stream available the following day on Hulu.

India Couture Week 2024 : Falguni Shane Peacock

Published

on

Falguni Shane Peacock’s display of imaginative craftsmanship at the FDCI x India Couture Week 2024 concluded the festival. Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, who played muse to the designer, dominated the show in this way. Seeing this duo together is not unusual, as they are also costarring in the upcoming movie Chhava. Rashmika Mandanna opened the show by walking down the runway to the sound of live music, and instead of following the usual pattern of ending the performance with a showstopper, she looked stunning in a white lehenga.

A flawless example of grace and elegance wearing a gorgeously designed lehenga of Rashmika that has been monotoned with pearls and sequins. When she turned around, the long train of the dupatta behind her was visible, draped around and over her shoulder. When she did, we also noticed the pearl dots pinned to her flowing waterfall hairstyle and the pearl stringed hair accessories she was wearing. She quickly changed into another white lehenga, with golden touches this time. Vicky Kaushal matched Rashmi by looking elegantly traditional in his cream-coloured sherwani, which was embellished with intricate embroidery. The sherwani had a modest yet intricate pattern all over the fabric, and it was buttoned up with elaborate, metallic buttons. A pair of exquisitely designed and embroidered shoes finished off his ensemble.

At the fashion show, Falguni Shane Peacock showcased their haute couture Rang Mahal collection. Her fitted creations, which hung on dreamy lines, were reportedly influenced by the regal Indian heritage, according to FDCI. The opulent lives of the royals and the magnificent palaces they inhabited were among the iconic features of India’s rich cultural heritage that Falguni Shane Peacock’s designs portrayed. One of the main ideas in Shane’s ensembles was time. Her couture brand has attempted to highlight the idea that time is timeless, significant, and intangible by drawing a link between it and the universe.
