The celebration of Saris at Vogue 24/7 Sari Show
Vogue India completed 10 years in India and celebrated it via Vogue Empower. As part of their initiative, Vogue took to the task of empowering Indian fashion by bringing the Sari to the spotlight. This was their first show at AIFW, where designers like Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre and AM:PM had also participated. The show kicked off with a performance by Monica Dongra in a beautiful white sari, while the collection was a mix of unique drapes, silhouettes and different fabrics.
Day 2
Pero
Pero channeled the gypsy vibe of Latin America with stylised jackets and anti fit dresses replete with colourful stripes and floral embroideries. Tasseled bags, OTT hair dos, free-flowing silhouettes, made us want to be a part of the fun and playful Péro tribe.
Pankaj and nidhi
Pankaj and Nidhi wowed us with embellishments and surface textures on monochrome patchwork prints. The hints of blue added an element of fun and broke the graphic monotony of the rest of the collection. The silhouettes ranged from tailored and boxy to flowy and voluminous.
Patine
Patine presented an eclectic line-up of jeans, jackets and jumpsuits. While the cold-shoulder maxis were so last season, the denim numbers made for a refreshing change.
Huemn
Stylised burkas, perforated hooded jackets, embroidered sheer dresses, fur accents and denim made a bold statement at Huemn’s power packed show!
Day 3
Wendell Rodricks
Wendell Rodricks by Schulen Fernandes swept us off our feet with dreamy ruffles, colour-blocked dresses, metallic cutwork blouses and wispy asymmetrical bodycon sheer.
Malini Ramani

Anju modi
Pleated lehenga skirts, floor grazing gowns and capes, velvet cholis and sheer asymmetrical jackets were spotted on the ramp during Anju Modi’s showcase. We loved the exquisite floral embroidery that lent a regal touch to the whole collection.
Pallavi Singhee
Textured fabrics, bead-trimmed kaftans and midi dresses along with sequinned numbers and jumpsuits with a hint of bohemia and Art Deco defined Pallavi Singhee’s collection.
Karishma Shahani Khan
Day 3 opened with Ka-Sha showcasing multi-coloured panelled dresses, reversible jackets and patchwork separates, lending the much-needed colours to winter layering.
Day 4
Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal
Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal put together a spectacular show of concept saris, jumpsuits, neo-bridal gowns, capes, gilets and dresses combining the signature aesthetics of both designers. All in all, it was a vibrant, sophisticated and edgy collection, fit for a grand finale showcase.
Mens wear show
The menswear show followed a monochromatic theme that made an impact, with everything from avant-garde to fusion. Dhruv Vaish showcased a suave lineup of gingham separates with leather accents, suits and longline jackets. We loved the metallic, chequered chokers and the double jackets.
Kommal and Ratul Sood brought fusion wear to the fore with gowns, drop-crotch pants and deconstructed shirts paired with blazers and sherwanis.
Nought One gave us extreme fashion goals with futuristic styles that included camouflage accents, big utilitarian pockets and military inspired twinsets making it seem like the models had strutted straight out of a Star Trek movie set.
Pawan Sachdeva‘s long dress shirts, zipper sherwanis, pocketed robe coats and embroidered blazers made a case for festive dressing with a twist. Sahil Aneja‘s suits, fur-lined jackets and pixelated hearts added the much-needed quirk to classic cuts.
Munkee See Munkee Doo
Munkee See Munkee Doo channeled contemporary chic with kimono-like robes, turtlenecks, big buttons as embellishments, deconstructed cuts and impeccably styled basics.
Ilk
We loved the relaxed vibe of Ilk’s understated tonal line replete with wallpaper prints on pyjamas, kaftan dresses, midis with exaggerated sleeves, print on print pairings and stylised floral saris.
Gaupa
Ruffled maxis, satin shirts, long-line jackets in candy-coloured hues coupled with sorbet tone basics and minimalistic layering, were done right at Guapa.

The Year of Statement Hat
When Anya Taylor-Joy stepped out at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in Jacquemus’ Le Chapeau Bomba, a delightfully oversized raffia hat it was clear that this accessory had become the season’s ultimate statement piece. The fall 2024 runways echoed this sentiment, with Chanel and Prada showcasing hats as the new must-have. Think of Sarah Jessica Parker’s oversized Maryam Keyhani creation, worn on the set of And Just Like That… earlier this year, or Margaret Qualley donning Chanel’s nautical style at Cannes. These hats are for the main characters who command attention, making a bold statement long before you arrive.
Altuzarra’s fall 2024 collection featured boxy headpieces on some models, each designed to evoke a specific character. “It was about finding joy in wearing a complete look, fully embodying a character,” explains designer Joseph Altuzarra. Interestingly, this was the label’s first foray into hats beyond casual knit and woven styles. ‘We didn’t plan to sell them,’ Altuzarra admits, ‘but they ended up being a hit.
Similarly, milliner Gigi Burris O’Hara has experienced a surge in demand. Although she launched her brand, Gigi Burris, in 2012, she only opened her first store late last year. “During leaner times, when people become more selective with their spending, they seek joy in thoughtful purchases,” she explains.
After years of embracing a more casual style, we’re now gravitating toward all things expressive. Maximalist content creator Sara Camposarcone has been embracing pieces from small brands like Potion23, renowned for its whimsical, witchy hats. “I feel like I can now wear bolder headpieces that complement my extravagant outfits,” Camposarcone shares. “Since discovering vintage fashion, I’ve developed a passion for finding great vintage pillbox hats or a 1920s fascinator.”

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s Traditional Ladakh’s Heritage Attire
As Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding festivities come to an end, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja chose to dress in Ladakh traditional garb. The event featured a number of topics, with India’s rich past being the focus yesterday night. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja emphasized this by dressing in Namza Couture, which was established in 2016 by Padma Yangchan and Jigmet Disket and is renowned for its commitment to Ladakhi fabrics.
The Mogos, a gown-like item with a shimmering zari border and pistachio green brocade, was part of Sonam’s ensemble. She wore a rani-pink shawl called a “Bok,” which is usually made from silk or goat skin and is worn to keep warm by the locals. This outfit was made of silk by Benaras artisans, and it had intricate phoenix embroidery, which stands for knowledge and vigor. It also had a crane image, which stands for prosperity and peace.
Her jewelry selections also honored custom; she wore a neckpiece set with diamonds and an emerald stone in the center. She accessorized this with striking statement rings and copper handcuffs, all tastefully matched with pearl earrings. She chose metallic juttis to complete her look, and she carried a bespoke purse by re-ceremonial.
