2017 has been a year filled with a plethora of trends followed across the globe. While some of them were uber cool, the others will make it hard for us to explain it to our grand children in the years to come *Sheer embarrassment*. Here’s a list of 7 trends that we thought will continue being popular in 2018. Take a look!

Fidget Spinners

You’ve probably seen them, whirring between the thumbs and index fingers of school children, friends, or even celebrities! These small devices created a wave among the teens, and could be seen everywhere, right from the corner store to Amazon!

Right from the fully filled in brows to the wiggly brows, Instagram was filled with the weirdest brow trends in the history of mankind this year! Who can forget the braided brows or the scary carved brows! Pssst! Here is our article on getting that perfect brow!

Super crazy tools as blender!

While one half of the population was busy leaving their boyfriends guessing what the petal shaped thing was (blender duh!), the other (Read CRAZY) half was busy using totally unexpected tools to blend their makeup, so much so that some of them started using a condom to apply foundation (Don’t forget silicone blenders and food!)!

Shape of You, Despacito and our very own Jimikki Kammal

You could hear everyone humming to the tunes of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of you, no matter where you went. And remember Despacito? That’s probably the only word from the song that people could actually pronounce (Guilty as charged)! Facebook and Instagram were flooded with videos of  women dancing for the oh-so-famous song Jimikki Kammal, so much that the song was being translated to various languages like Tamil and Hindi.

Same sex marriage

From being something that was frowned upon, same sex marriage has come a long way to being accepted by the present day society. From what is being seen today, we are sure it will be accepted widely in the years to come and would change the way people see others.

Sheer Play

For those who like the ‘more-is-more’ look, here’s a different take on something light and airy. The sheer fabrics are now no longer merely for blouses. The runway was packed with trendy options for the gruelling summers – skirts, trousers and shirts.

Sugar-coated

The Nehru coats created a rave, making a comeback for the ladies. The runways sizzled with metallic coats – punctuated with buttons and lapelled cuts. Featuring a hint of androgyny, the coats were tailored with exquisite silk fabrics.

Cape Town

Having a very Victorian touch, the yoke-length and embroidered scallop capes of Rohit Bal’s cutwork collection at the Lakmé fashion week was an eyecatcher. To make matter more interesting, Kareena Kapoor was the cherry-on
-top as his show-stopper.

Eye Do

From bold glitterati stick-ons on the neck to cobalt blue lashes, the runway did not shy away from bold, audacious looks. A new style to lighten up the eyes is the military camouflage face paint-like strokes.

Pick-a-Pocket

The runway brought back an age-old charm through skirts, casual and elegant in silk, featuring insidebuilt pockets.

Hair Comes the Bomb!

There’s been a hair wave revolution; combat inward braids is the new rave and partitions are now in V’s and But the look that stole the show is the glitterati hairpins.

Long is In

Fringed earrings, fit bands and choker chains are all back this season, thanks to the vibrant vivacious styles of Masaba Gupta.

Fringe Benefits

Fringes found its way back with them being used in the hemlines. And this was both in casual and partywear.

Cool for Collars

From the simplicity of colour, to the complexities of asymmetry and variations of collars created quite a stir at the show.
