Prasanth Nair who from Kerala cadre of the 2007 IAS batch, has earned public acclaim in the past for launching many successful projects like Operation Sulaimani (a free food programme for the less privileged), Operation Savari Giri Giri (aimed at ensuring safe and dignified journey to schoolchildren on buses) and Tere Mere Beach Mein (a project to tackle waste management at Kozhikode Beach)and was known as Collector Bro in and around youth Circuits in Kozhikode, for his contributions to the society. He is currently serving as the Private Secretary to the Minister of State and Tourism (Independent Charge) Alphons J Kannanthana.
Prasanth has again made headlines, but this time for an entirely different achievement. The IAS officer has directed a short film titled Daivakanam (God Particle) and it will have its world premiere at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.
The IAS Association tweeted, congratulating Prasanth in for his creative film.

The story of Daivakanam is about an astrologer who can see future events and tries to freeze time to prevent the unavoidable circumstances. The film depicts a man’s struggle to cope with the knowledge of the future.
Prasanth, who also wrote the story and screenplay of Daivakanam, has previously written the screenplay for the movie Diwanjimoola Grand Prix, an Anil Radhakrishna Menon directorial. Produced by Satish B Satish, the music for the short film is composed by Sreevalsan J Menon
