After the long wait this celebrity couple are going to tie the knot this winter. Rumours about their marriage and about it getting postponed has been widespread even before the date got fixed. “November 10 is the final and official date when Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will become man and wife. The earlier plan of having the marriage on November 19 has been altered.” There is also a speculation about the Ramleela couple that they will go to Italy for their marriage just like Virat -Anushka. The roka ceremony was long back done in the presence of their parents and close friends, and the wedding date just finalized a few days back.

After years of hide and seek, the rumour has it. Recently at an interview, Deepika Padukone allegedly admitted that Ranveer Singh is her boyfriend and the internet can’t stop gushing about it. Often referred to as the power couple of Bollywood, they recently publicly announced their relationship status and are reported to wed in an intimate ceremony later this year.

With a gush of reports making its way through the internet, it was stated that Deepika and Ranveer’s parents came together for the first time to fix the wedding date. It was reported that the parents have short-listed four tentative dates between September and December. While the dates are yet to be finalised, the parents exchanged gifts, where Deepika was gifted some jewellery along with a Sabyasachi saree, celebrating the couple and their union.

Technically the film is intelligently mounted. Bhansali has laboured over the production designs which include the sets, locales and the costumes. Visually every frame is extravagant and captivating. The lengthy shots with seamless camera movements give an enhanced cinematic experience. The wide-angle shots capture the locales beautifully. The film is well-executed and has all ingredients of a block-buster.

Padmaavat is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s aesthetic masterpiece. With Deepika’s immaculate looks and grand costumes, Deepika Padukone has carried the title role with great dignity. Especially her performance in the climax will leave the audience in awe. The film equally portrays the pride of Rajputs and the dominant thrust of Khiljis without hurting anyone’s sentiments. While the agonizing writing must be definitely appreciated, the apt casting is another reason for the magic. Although Ranveer Singh owns the film with his monstrous performance, Deepika and Shahid too shine with their majestic characterizations.

Padmavati is a free-spirited woman loves to hunt in the jungles of her hometown Singhal, she is both a ethreal beauty  and the epitome of feminism. She meets Maharawal Ratan Singh, the king of Mewar, and falls in love with him. They get married and move to Mewar, and simultaneously, we are shown the rise of Allauddin Khilji: a ravaging, evil warrior who wants to rule the world and wants all the rare things in the world, from precious stones to beautiful women, nothing escapes the sharp eyes of Alauddin. When an exiled priest from Mewar reaches the Delhi Sultanate (where Khilji and his clan live), he informs him of the beauty of Rani Padmavati and plants a seed in his mind: he will own the world only when he has Padmavati by his side. And so starts Khilji’s conquest; whether he reaches Padmavati and manages to capture her, makes for the rest of the film.

Deepika Padukone looks ever-so-gorgeous and pulls off even the most emotionally complex scenes with solemnity. She does most of her acting with her eyes. Shahid Kapoor holds sway in showcasing the values of Rajputs with his beautifully understated performance. His expressive eyes too, add more power to his role, which has so much to take home for every proud Rajput. Whereas, Ranveer steals the show with his outrageous performance and  is a perfect role model for someone who always wants to come out victorious in whatever they do. Aditi Rao Hydari also looks spectacular as Alauddin Khilji’s wife.

Padmaavat has raised the bars in terms of Indian cinematography, music and production design, the film has authentically registered the richness of Rajput Kingdom, the lifestyle of Khiljis and their practices. Though the film’s runtime is 163 minutes, it totally engages you from the start to the end.
