Actor Dileep, who was expelled from AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Actors) last year over his alleged involvement actress violation case, will be reappointed as a preliminary member in the association as discussed in the general body meeting of the AMMA on Sunday.

Apparently Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) stayed away from the meeting. It is was established the senior actors and majority of the participants took a stance in favour of Dileep at the meeting. They focused on the action taken by AMMA against Dileep which were reportedly against the procedures and AMMA’s rules. Significantly, the new generation heartthrobs Prithviraj, Tovino and Nivin Pauly were also kept away from the meeting.

According to actor Siddique, the decision to re-appoint Dileep’s membership was taken unanimously, and the discussion lasted only about two minutes. Siddique also said, “Dileep could have approached the court against the association’s action, it was good that he did not do so. If he had moved legally against his removal, the story would have been different. It is Urmila Unni who raised the question on what decision will be made about Dileep, and as we sat around as a crowd, the members opined that he shouldn’t be ousted unless proven guilty. Also, the official procedures to expel Dileep weren’t taken last year though Mammootty had given an official statement on behalf of AMMA. So, he continues to be a member.”

Later, the new general secretary Edavela Babu also spoke in favour of Dileep citing how actor Jagathy Sreekumar was suspended and not expelled from the association when he was charged with an case earlier.

The AMMA meeting also witnessed the current head of the organisation Innocent, who is the Chalakudy MP, making way for Mohanlal as the organisation’s new president.

Howerver, this decision has not gone well with all in the industry. Aashiq Abu expressed his strong disapproval against AMMA’s decision and talked about Thilakan who was expelled till death. He posted a photo of the legendary actor Thilakan along with a note, which can be translated as, “He was not an accused in any criminal case, yet he was expelled from the association by the kingpings of the industry. Will AMMA apologise to Thilakan for expelling him on charges of expressing his opinion?”

Both his movies – Ramaleela and Kammara Sambhavam – were applauded even before they released.  In the very same style he is back in AMMA in just a year’s time with his case still pending in courts. Perhaps some of them owe him for favours that he’s done for them in the times of crises. And perhaps some just can’t believe the man who had won their loyalty and made them laugh hysterically could be anything beyond the charming, overly-polite self he has presented himself as all these years, despite the facts of the case.

This time Actor Mohanlal is back impressing the audiences with his workout video of him doing squats.  Accepting the fitness challenge from the Minister Of Sports and Olympics Silver medal winner Mr Rajyavardhan Rathore. Mohanlal posted a photo of him in twitter and also challenged actor Suriya , Prithviraj and Jr NTR to take up the fitness challenge.

The actor later posted his workout video, which clearly shows he is in good shape and this could one of the many reasons why he looks young and energetic most of times. Here is the video of the actor doing some squats for the fitness challenge.

Elanthoor, a small village in Pathanamthitta, Kerala is where Mohanlal was born. But he grew up in Thiruvananthapuram and earned a degree in commerce from Mahatma Gandhi University. Keralites saw Mohanlal for the first time on the screen through the directorial debut of Fazil in Manjil Virinja Pookkal (1980). Even though he was cast in the lead antagonist role, the young boy succeeded in obtaining a place in audience’s heart. It has been a legendary run for this veteran actor since then.

Not only from fans, wishes are pouring in from the members of the film fraternity, including legends such as Mammootty and many young stars as well. Mohanlal is always known as the coolest guy, whatever the situation. Lal has always proved that he can handle all aspects of entertainment, be it in front of the camera including dancing, singing as well as action sequences way better than any actor of his generation. The dedication of Mohanlal towards cinema has always been praised. He is also one of the few high profile Malayali actors who are connected to his fans as well. The way Mohanlal treats his fans and praises his supporters has always been noticed.

The fabulous artiste is a recipient of five National Awards, several State and Filmfare awards, and the Padma Shri. In 2008, Mohanlal became the first actor ever to receive the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel by Territorial Army.

Prithviraj has grown into one of the most promising actors in Mollywood from the teen boy Malayali has witnessed in Nandhanam to an enlightened recluse in Tiyaan. Now the first venture of Prithviraj productions along with Sony Pictures India, Nine is in it’s shooting periods.

Nine, is filmmaker Jenuse Mohamed’s second project after his widely discussed one 100 days of love.  Nine is going to be the first ever sci-fi movie produced in Mollywood, starring Prithviraj. Prithviraj is said to be playing the role of a scientist and the movie is all about incidents which take place in nine days. Music will be handled by the famous and talented Shaan Rahman who has a good following amongst the youth. No information till now has been revealed about the heroine of the film.

By the end of April, the first schedule of the movie was finished in Kerala and Prithvi updated the next schedule will be at the foothills of the great Himalayas. First look poster and a motion poster has been released by Prithvi himself through his social media handles which has created much anticipation in audiences. The motion poster showed the images of polar lights, mighty Himalayas, a shooting star as well as the hero, who is like a lone wolf in the night, trying to tear the darkness with a torch in his hands. The motion poster reveals the thriller nature of the film and everyone is eagerly waiting to know about next updates of the movie.

Not only with Nine, Prithvi is generating much more anticipation in audiences, since he has announced his directorial debut, Lucifer starring Mohanlal and through his next films like Ranam, My Story, Aadujeevitham, an Anjali Menon directorial, and Kaaliyan which will be a periodic film.

Actress Nazriya Nazim is all set to make her comeback soon with Anjali Menon’s forthcoming film, with Prithviraj and Parvathy as her costars. The actress’s big comeback was much awaited and all her fans are looking forward to the movie. As after her marriage with Fahad, she had taken an indefinite gap from the Malayalm film industry.

Meanwhile, the actress is busy nowadays as the producer of a film that has just started rolling and interestingly, it has her husband Fahadh Faasil as the male lead and will be romancing Aishwarya Lekshmi for the film. She will be producing the film with Amal Neerad and Fahadh Faasil.

Reportedly, the shoot of the film has already commenced in Vagamon. Nazriya is one of the most popular young stars in the Malayalam film industry and is perhaps best known for her role in the Om Shanti Oshana and Bangalore Days. Her other notable films include Neram and the romantic-comedy Raja Rani.

Fahadh is taking a break from Anwar Rasheed’s Trance, which has gone on a scheduled break. There are rumours that he will start a project with Rajeev Ravi after wrapping up the two ongoing projects.

The trailer of Prithviraj and Parvathy’s My Story was unveiled by Mammootty on his Facebook page some days back. He also wished the whole team of the film all the very best.

For those who came up with agitations, Mammootty had come up personally with his response, according to a popular news portal.

“Cinema is not something to be let down on the mere basis of a media-hyped controversy. Cinema is the outcome of the joint efforts and expectations of many. Anyone has the liberty to express his/her opinion after watching a movie. Criticisms would be definitely handled and responded, in the name of this, isolating someone and image assassination of an artist cannot be tolerated. That’s not my way.” Mammootty seems to have taken a firm stand in this.

The film is produced and directed by debutant female director Roshni Dinkar, she has previously worked as a costume designer for several films. It stars Prithviraj and Parvathy. Prithviraj plays a film enthusiast who wants to make it in the film industry himself. And from the looks of the trailer, Parvathy’s role might be of a celebrated actress. My Story seems to be a sensible romantic drama with hard-hitting moments.

Mammootty has shocked the entire film fraternity and his massive fan followers with that one post. But, he has also shown the excellent characteristics of a gentleman who understands the struggle of women in today’s world, especially in films. This massive step in chivalry and encouraging young people in Malayalam cinema by Mammootty will become an example for a lot of people within and outside the film industry,  given the fact that he his very famous on a National level. Hopefully, we will see many more upcoming stars following the footsteps of the Megastar, and there will be a stronger representation of Women in cinema.

It is a landmark day for Malayalam film industry today. Sony Pictures International is all set to expand into Indian regional cinema with Malayalam superstar Prithviraj.

Its been only seven days since Prithviraj productions was formed, headed by Prithviraj and Journalist -turned producer Supriya Menon. It is a very supplemental step by Sony, which has major broadcasting interests in India, into country’s vast regional film industries. According to the speculations, the shoot begins sometime in mid-April. Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran on Friday announced he’s getting into film production by floating his own company named Prithviraj Productions along with his wife Supriya Menon. Known for co-producing films with cinematographer Santosh Sivan and entrepreneur Shaji Nadesan under the banner of August Cinema, Prithviraj has finally decided to go solo after he announced his exit from the company last year. In a statement he shared on his Twitter page, Prithvi opened up about his new dream of funding content that’ll make Malayalam cinema proud.

“Over the past one year Supriya and I, have been putting our efforts into realising a dream. And now it’s finally time to share it with you. A new film production company!

We have always wanted to give back to cinema… and we couldn’t possibly think of a better way to do that than facilitate films which we believe will make Malayalam cinema proud.

Why did it take one year? Why do we believe this could be the start of something very special for our industry? Why is this dream of ours effectively taking a step closer to the vision that I have always harboured for Malayalam cinema? These are all questions to which hopefully you’ll find answers in the next few announcements that will follow.

For now, I’d like to thank all of you who’ve given me what I have, not to forget Shaji Nadesan and Santosh Sivan who held my hand when I took baby steps into the world of film production, and a heartfelt thank you to each and everyone who taught me all that I know of cinema. Currently awaiting the release of his films Ranam and My Story, Prithviraj is all set to commence work on Blessy’s Aadujeevitham from this month. In the film, based on the 2008 popular English novel Goat Days – Prithviraj will be seen as an abused migrant worker in Saudi Arabia. He’s expected to undergo drastic weight transformation for the role.

The motion poster doesn’t reveal much about the film. However, the piercing looks, long locks, and beard are quite attractive. Sujith Vaassudev will handle the DOP, while the music will be done by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film is produced by Rajeev Nair under Magic Moon Production Company. The rest of the crew and technical departments are not yet finalized. But, according to reports the Bahubali fame, Sathyaraj might be playing a pivotal role in the film.

The film is about Iravikuttipillai, a warrior of Venad from the Ballads. According to reports the action sequence of the period drama might be choreographed by Game of Thrones Crew, one of the largest series from HBO.

While Priya currently has 4.5 million followers, Zuckerberg has merely 4 million followers on the platform. With just 92 posts, the young actor has gained quite a stardom in such small time span. However, the tech prodigy is not just the only celebrity whom she has ‘killed’ with her wink. National Award winner and actor Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal, who has 714k followers on Instagram, has also been left far behind. And the hunt list does not end there, she has demolished the fame of many others on Instagram like: Dulquer Salmaan 1.9 million, Trisha Krishnan just 1.5 million, Nazriya 1.1 million, Prithviraj 465k and Nivin Pauly just 38k followers.

It would be interesting to see what this stardom gives to the newcomer and how it helps her to build a successful career in the film industry.
