Sanjay Dutt is the latest entry to the star cast of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 4. This edition is also a directorial return for Sajid Khan to this franchise after five years.While Sajid Khan had directed the first and second installment in the Housefull franchise, which released in year 2010 and 2012 respectively, Housefull 3 was directed by writer-filmmaker pair Sajid-Farhad. This sequel is expected to be the biggest in the series till date and will be released in all three formats  2D, 3D and IMAX 3.

A source told tabloid, “Sanjay had come on-board the film last month, but the actor’s character has been kept under wraps as Nadiadwala, a long-term friend of the actor, has a grand launch planned for the actor’s never-seen-before comic avatar.” This adds on mystery and expectations over Sanjay Dutt’s role. The film revolves around the theme of reincarnation and follows a non-linear narrative. With a lavish budget of approximately ₹ 200 crores, one portion of the film will  be shot in London and the second one in India. The film is expected to hit the screen during Diwali 2019.

This is going to be Sanjay Dutt’s second film with Sajid Nadiadwala in a row. The actor also stars in his period film Kalank, which is a joint venture between Sajid’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Sanjay Dutt also has a number of other projects lined up such as Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and  Torbaaz. He has also kicked off the shoot for Prasthaanam, the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster by the same name.

While Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh have been a part of the last three films, Bobby Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde are all first-timers in the franchise.
