The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) has reacted to a report made by Mathrubhumi newspaper, one of Kerala’s leading dailies, stating that the President of  AMMA, actor Mohanlal has threatened to resign from his post as the President of the association regarding a difference of opinion among its members. The AMMA association later posted in their facebook page that the reports are not true about the actor quitting his post and it was just a gimmick portrayed by Mathrubhumi showing signs of frustration towards the association and the legendary actor. The post made by AMMA states that various film organizations within the film industry stopped giving advertisements to Mathrubhumi, for which they are taking revenge by maligning AMMA association and its dignified members.

The post also claims that the newspaper has been trying to insult newly released movies and portraying the actors in a bad light. It also claims that the Mathrubhumi has been on a mission to ruin the image of actor Mohanlal and other significant members, by accusing them by false statements. The Facebook post made by AMMA ended with a note saying that there is no need to panic as the statements made by the daily is nothing to be taken seriously and the association will stay strong and together even when the tides are against them. A private school in Thiruvananthapuram expelled a class 12 boy for hugging his female friend publicly during an Arts festival. Kerala high court has upheld the decision of the school. The court in its verdict mentioned that the panel has the power to only recommend to the government for grant of relief to the victim. The Principal is the institution’s guardian and has the power to take the decisions that are necessary to maintain the discipline of the institution.

Besides hugging, the boy was found guilty of sharing pictures of them together on social media. Both the students had to apologize to the school authority. “This is an act of violation of school discipline”, said the School Management.

The father of the boy was called to the school to discuss this matter. He was shocked by the Secretary’s abusive behavior towards the 16-year old. The boy was called a ‘Bull in heat’ by the Secretary.

Shashi Tharoor slammed the school with his tweets.

Now, the parents of the student have decided to appeal to a high court division against the expulsion.
