After making her presence felt in Hollywood, Priyanka Chopra is all set to come to Bollywood to reunite with actor Salman Khan for the fourth time for the movie Bharat. Even though the plot is not revealed, it is said that Salman will be seen in more than two looks. It is also revealed that Priyanka’s character is one that people should keep an eye on. Her character will be the catalyst to the most crucial turning point in the film, say reports.

The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Ali has directed two major Bollywood hits Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Priyanka, who has proven her talent in Hollywood, is expected to bring the film to a more of global level. Ali posted a picture showing the project has been launched in his twitter account.

The motion poster doesn’t reveal much about the film. However, the piercing looks, long locks, and beard are quite attractive. Sujith Vaassudev will handle the DOP, while the music will be done by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film is produced by Rajeev Nair under Magic Moon Production Company. The rest of the crew and technical departments are not yet finalized. But, according to reports the Bahubali fame, Sathyaraj might be playing a pivotal role in the film.

The film is about Iravikuttipillai, a warrior of Venad from the Ballads. According to reports the action sequence of the period drama might be choreographed by Game of Thrones Crew, one of the largest series from HBO.

The trailer of Kaalakaandi is finally out and it can surely give you the chills. Saif Ali Khan is looking his usual best in the confused desi ‘boy’ look, and promises to break the conventional film watching experience of the audience. The Movie seems to have high level of black comedy infused with good amount of sarcasm and boldness. The film has been successful in creating some controversy for its share of bold content and experimentation with 73 cuts by CBFC. Even though saif’s last movie Chef, did not create much ripples amongst the audience..but Kaalakaandi surely looks like it’s going to create a big wave.

Saif Ali Khan is not new to noir cinema, as his movies like Being Cyrus and Go Goa Gone did fairly well in box office.

It is power packed with visually aesthetic elements and shot in reeling hypertechnicolor. The movie begins with Saif Ali Khan consulting a doctor, where he is told that he is suffering from stomach cancer. And Saif is shocked as he has remained clean all his life and feels miserable about his condition. Finally he is advised to try all crazy things that he has not done in life, as his days are numbered. The movie is all about his tryst with everything from drugs, to parties and unregulated violence.

Hurray! Next year, get ready to take a trip to outer space through this first Indian space film.

#tiktiktik … yes the countdown begins and let’s wait to see this visual treat with the experience of outer space, stars, meteorites and much more!

Whether a story unfolds in our own galaxy or one far, far away, space makes a great setting for a film and this can be one of its kind.

The exploration of what lies in our stars has long been a fascination of mankind and we have seen it in most of the Hollywood films. But then, rejoice Indians. They are coming!

The first Indian space flick starring Jayam Ravi and Nivetha Pethuraj will hit the screens on January 26, 2018.

This movie marks the reunion of Ravi and director Shakti after last year’s Tamil zombie thriller Miruthan. The film is financed by Hitesh Jhabak and the music has been scored by D Imman.

Tik Tik Tik trailer was hit by more than 4 million people on Youtube in 10 days. The trailer started on a really high note and there were many who found the plot similar to ‘Armageddon’. It begins with an asteroid hitting the Earth that spreads panic and fear among the people. Though it seems like that, people are awaiting for this one with a different plot of magician taking up the lead role.

Talking about his experience, the lead actor, Jayam Ravi had stated. “The character I play is not that of an astronaut, but I am part of a space expedition. The first half deals with how I get involved in the expedition and the second half completely takes place in space. I thoroughly enjoyed working in the film. I’m sure children will be amazed by the scenes involving zero gravity.

Talking about the film, Shakti, the director had shared his experience of exploring the space genre in a commercial setup. And he adds on saying that, “It’s very challenging to engage audience when the story shifts to space as there are not too many elements to play with. Our film has no romance and even the songs have been shot as montages but we have elements we think will appeal to everybody.”

1) The Avengers Infinity war will see the all of the marvel characters until now, after the team was dissolved in Captain America Civil War’
2) The new trailer shows marvel characters in new attires, like the black widow with blonde hair, Spider man in his new upgraded costume, Captain America with his new look and much more.
3) Thanos is finally here. Almost every avenger movie, the character of Thanos is shown and the fans have been waiting for Thanos to hit the stage and hit those superheroes hard.
4) This movie will hopefully see the reunion of the avengers with some new additions to the list
5) Thor lost one eye and his hammer, Captain America lost his Shield, Tony Stark is still mad at Captain America for saving Bucky who murdered Tony’s parents), who knows who all will lose what in this latest movie.?
6) The Guardians of the Galaxy are here and groot is now a teenager.
7) We all saw Thanos, taking the infinity stone out of Vision, and we all know that Vision has a family now. Will her die or will he survive? Is anybody else going to die ?

9) The Civil war ended with Captain America saving his comrades from the prison and we get to see them once again and what happened to the all of them, especially Tony after Civil War.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The name resonates magnificence, grandeur, and opulence. Pair him with an ethereal beauty such as Deepika Padukone and you have yet another winner in your hands.

Bhansali’s upcoming period-drama Padmavati has been generating quite a buzz for a while now; particularly the poster of Alauddin Khilji’s (Ranveer Singh) heavily-kohled smoldering gaze while revelling in a lotus pond.

But the release of Padmavati’s first much-awaited track ‘Ghoomar’ had all eyes on a crimson elegantly-clad coy Rani Padmini (Padukone) stepping into the dance arena and performing the Rajasthani folk dance to perfection.

Traditionally performed by a new bride when she is welcomed into her new marital home, the performance was the perfect blend of blush and tease, with Padmini stealing occasional glances at the Raja (Shahid Kapoor), who watched her with a mystified spellbound expression.

“The Ghoomar Song has to be one of the most difficult yet most fulfilling song sequences i have ever shot for! #GhoomarToday @FilmPadmavati,” Deepika elucidates on Twitter.

While Shreya Ghoshal and Swaroop Khan offer their vocals for the song, the lyrics are penned by A. M. Turaz while the Rajasthani lyrics by Swaroop Khan.
Performing 66 twirls in her majestic traditional ‘poshak’ for the song, she spent hours training under the guidance of Jyothi D Tommaar, assistant director and trustee of Gangaur Ghoomar Dance Academy while being choreographed by Kruti Mahesh Midya.

Be it Nagade Sang Dhol Baje from Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela or Deewani Mastani from Bajirao Mastani, Padukone has always emerged a Bhansali favourite. And for good reason.

He began his journey as a scriptwriter and made his way into the director’s seat. Jinu Abraham talks about how he found his inspiration for Adam Joan in this exclusive interview with FWD Life.

Adam Joan is your directorial debut. What made you don the director’s hat?

I had no plans to direct the film. But as I was very thorough with the script, Prithviraj asked me to direct it.

How did you get the storyline for Adam Joan?

Years ago, I was in Scotland, searching for the location for the film London Bridge. The weather was gloomy, with dark skies and fog. I imagined that there was someone who was very disturbed. He was wandering about and searching for something. From that moment I got a story started taking shape in my mind.
A lot of things were added and contributed to this movie. It took more than two and a half years to complete it.

What made you venture into black magic/ satan worship in Adam Joan?

It is primarily the story of a girl who is kidnapped and tracing the story behind it. Indian films have generally explored the subject of kidnapping with the stories of organ transplant, trafficking, etc. But Satanic worship is a new notion that came into my mind.

One day when I was driving through Edinburgh, my Line producer Shine showed me a lady on the road, who looked very strange. She was walking fast, wearing a black dress. Shine told me she was going for satanic worship. This incident gave me the idea for Satanic worship in Adam Joan.

I researched a lot on satanic worships. I read books and watched movies which had satanic worship because I never wanted any kind of influence of those movies in Adam Joan. I am from a Jacobite orthodox family in Pathanamthitta. When I was young, I had heard a lot of myths like Karuthachan ootu which is black magic. So, I have taken a lot from these for the film.

Did you always have Prithviraj in mind for the title role?

Yes. I shared the story with Prithviraj and I was very sure that he would show an interest in this film. We know each other since the days of the film Masters. Even though the film wasn’t a big hit, he had always trusted and believed in my work. That gave me courage.

Adam Joan has a lot of foreign actors. How did you rope them in?

I had a concept about how the villians should be. So, we made all the settlements and I sent all the references to my line producer Shine. He made all the arrangements with the casting agencies of Scotland. They gave us a short list, from which we selected our crew.

There were strong women characters in your first film Masters and now in Adam Joan as well. According to you, how important are women characters in this film?

Masters gave a lot of importance to women characters but it went unnoticed. In Adam Joan as well, after Prithviraj, the next important characters are Lena and Bhavana. Their characters of Daisy and Shwetha were never created with a conscious effort of giving prominence to women characters. I had a plan to create an entire film about the character Daisy, and so the character for Adam Joan was inspired from that.

How was your entry into the movie industry?

I was always very interested in movies. I had a passion for writing, reading and I used to watch a lot of movies. I admire MT and Padmarajan’s movies. I also idolise Madhu Muttam the script writer of Manichitrathazhu, under whom I have worked as assistant scriptwriter for Bharathan Effect. After that I wrote for Masters and moved into films fulltime.

You are a known scriptwriter, and now a director. How is your experience with the two?

It was a great experience for me. I am a very lethargic person. When I was the scriptwriter, I was tardy to reach the sets. But things changed when I became a director. I had to take a lot of responsibilities. But I enjoyed my work to its fullest and it has been a great experience.

What are your future projects?

I have some stories in my mind. I will choose the one which inspires me more. Basically, I am a scriptwriter, so I have a few more commitments to finish. Maybe after that, I will return as a director.

They stole the viewers’ hearts right from the start, and were undoubtedly the real stars of the film. Ichappi and Haseeb have been immortalised in cinema goers’ memories forever by Amal Shah and Govind Pai in the much acclaimed film Parava, the directorial debut of actor Soubin Shahir. While the film has a star cast of actors such as Shane Nigam, Arjun Ashokan, Zinil Zainuddin, Siddique, Harisree Ashokan, Soubin, and Dulquer Salmaan in an extended cameo appearance; the young guns Amal and Govind left the lasting impression on the screen as they take up the maximum screen time right from the start till the end of the film.

With their first ever appearance in front of a camera, and without having attempted acting even in their school, Amal and Govind, who study in classes 12 and 10 respectively, delivered flawless performances that were on par with seasoned actors.

FWD Life caught up with them amidst the now busy schedule that the young boys suddenly find themselves in; an extreme contrast to their unknown lives that they led till just a week back.

Tell us about the day you transformed from Amal Shah and Govind Pai to Ichappi and Haseeb.

(Amal) I was returning from a wedding one day. I was doing wheelies on my cycle. Suddenly a guy stopped me and called me. I got scared as I thought he was going to scold me for my stunts. It was Soubin ikka, he asked me to give me my home phone number. I got scared, thinking he wanted to complain to my parents. So I gave him my own number. He called me in the evening, and came home. That’s when they told me about this opportunity for a film.

(Govind) My mother has a tea shop in Cherlai. Soubin ikka has come there a few times. One such day he had come over and the first instance when he saw me, I had fallen from my cycle. He told me that he was doing such a film and asked if I was interested. I said I was, and then they took me to their location and that’s where I met Amal.

How did you prepare for your roles?

The assistant director of the film Abhiram chettan, used to show us children’s films every day. He used to make us act out scenes from them. We watched and learned a lot like that.

Which film did you like the most among the children’s films that you watched?

Children of Heaven is a film we liked the best.

Have you trained pigeons before?

Yes, we have had our own pigeons whom we used to train. The pigeons that have been used in Parava have been brought in from Tamil Nadu. Their wings were not clipped.

Were you scared as it was the first time you were facing the camera? Which was your first shot?

We were scared the first day, but Soubin ikka told us to be our natural selves. He guided us a lot and told us not to be scared. He said that he himself had come up the same way. The first shot was the first scene of the film – in which we take back our fish.

Did you ever get scolded by Soubin?

(Amal) Yes! He would get scolded every day!

(Govind) There was not a single day when Soubin ikka didn’t shout at me! It was like I couldn’t sleep without hearing him reprimand me.

What was the atmosphere at the shoot like?

Soubin ikka used to give everyone a lot of freedom. Everyone used to share each other’s work.

Were you at the shoot location only during your parts or were you present at other times as well?

We used to go and watch the shoot and help out even if it did not include our parts.

Did you always wish to act in films?

We have never even dreamt of acting in a film! We used to go and watch among the crowd whenever a film was being shot.

Have you acted in skits in school? What are the other extra-curricular activities you take part in?

No, we have never acted in school, but we are active in sports.

Do you wish to continue acting in films?

Yes! We are interested in acting again. If we get any projects, we will discuss it with Soubin ikka before proceeding. We are interested in assisting him and have told him about it.

Who are your favourite actors?

DQ (Dulquer Salmaan) and Shane ikka.

He made his arrival in the Malayalam film industry with his debut movie Orkut oru Ormakoot. After a gap of five years, Arjun Ashokan, son of seasoned actor Harisree Ashokan returns to films with Soubin Shahir’s directorial debut, Parava. He gives an insight into his work and life so far in this exclusive interview.

Parava is your second film. How did it happen to you?

I didn’t know Soubinikka very well personally, but we had met a few times. When my dad got to know that Soubinikka was doing a film, he called him. That’s when Soubinikka asked me to meet him. From then till now, it has been a long journey for me.

Tell us about your role in the film?

My character’s name is Hakkim, who is a typical Mattancherry youth who indulges in all sorts of mischief. I shan’t reveal more as the character is intrinsically linked to the story, so it’s better for you to watch and find out.

How was your experience working with the film? And as we all know it was Soubin’s directorial debut movie, so, how was it working with him?

It was a really great experience working with Parava’s team. Before the shooting started we all stayed together as the team. Working together gave us all a great energy.

Talking about Soubinikka, I was a little short on confidence in the beginning, but he moulded me slowly into Hakkim. I got a few references from him about the character. I got hold of all the costumes beforehand so that I could familiarise myself more with the character. I was able to learn a lot about movie making because each one of us was given complete freedom. Towards the latter part of the shoot, Soubinikka handed over the whole set into our hands just because of the trust he had in us.

Dulquer Salmaan is playing an extended cameo appearance in this movie. How was your experience working with him?

Mammookka is my favuorite actor, and I admire Dulquer a lot. Initially, I wondered about how it would be to interact with DQ. But I met him in a café after my first day’s shoot. From there, we started talking and I was very comfortable with him, he is a very cool person. It was a great experience working with him.

At the time when Parava was announced, it was highlighted in the news as the film in which the sons of three famous comedy artists – Abhi’s son Shane Nigam, Zainuddin’s son Zinil, and yourself – would be making a joint appearance. How was it working with them?

I didn’t know Shane initially, but I knew Zinil beforehand. We all interacted with each other before the shoot for Parava started, and were thus able to get very close to each other. Even now, we keep meeting. It was a great opportunity that I got to work with all of them.

Your debut movie was Orkut oru Ormakootu in 2012. How did that happen to you? You are doing Parava after a long gap. Why did you take such a long break between the two movies?

I was very active in various arts during school. Once, while dancing for a school programme, the brother of the director duo of Orkut oru Ormakoot, Manoj and Vinod, saw me and suggested my name for the film. That’s how I got my first film.

I used to go to the shooting locations with my father but I learned so many things after acting in the movie. I was not actually prepared to act in a movie as I was interested in music and DJing.

I thought of taking a break from movies because I wanted complete my education and become stable in my business. Parava came to me at the right time.

What was the advice you got from your father as you entered films?

He didn’t give me any particular advice. When I got this offer from Soubinikka, my father handed me over to Soubinikka entirely to mould me in whatever manner he deemed fit for his film.

Which is your favourite movie of your father Harisree Ashokan?

I love all of his movies. But he has done a different role in Baavuttiyude Naamathil and I liked his performance in that movie the most.
