Kevin Spacey will be back on the big screen in two months. The sexual misconduct scandal against him had wrecked the actor’s career late last year. But the public disgrace of the actor could not stop the distributor – Vertical Entertainment – from releasing Billionaire Boys Club in which the actor plays a supporting role. The film will hit the theatres on August 17.

Kevin was accused of making unwanted sexual advances to young male actors. Actor Anthony Rapp was the first to accuse him for sexual assault that he faced when he was 14 years old. Following Anthony’s revelation, almost 20 actors became vocal about Kevin’s sexual misconduct and in January this year, Scotland Yard announced it was investigating three sexual assault claims made against the actor.

Director Ridley Scott had replaced Kevin with Christopher Plummer for his film All The Money In The World (2017) owing to these allegations. The American Beauty actor was also fired from the lead role in the Netflix series House of Cards, making room for Diane Lane to join the cast.

However, Vertical Entertainment has declared that the film was made almost two and a half years ago when the news on Kevin had not come out. They also said that they hoped “the distressing allegations pertaining to one person’s behaviour does not tarnish the release of the film”.

Billionaire Boys Club directed by James Cox is a film based on a true story of young men in the ’80s attempting to become rich by planning a Ponzi scheme. Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton, Emma Roberts, and Billie Lourd co-star with Kevin in the film.
