In the eyes of many, Goa has charmed them all. She is the land of dreams, vastly voyeuristic with her coastlines stretching along the Arabian Sea. Riddled with many imprints of the past, she boasts of her long history as a Portuguese colony prior to 1961. She’s old fashioned with the 16th-century churches and fishing villages, but there’s a certain pull that awakens a discovery within you.

Ebb and Flow

Many times, Goa is thought to be a place for a breakaway. To a land where the nights are young and merry. On the coast, the light gleams across the vast seas and the mind’s reposes to the cadence of the sea’s ebb and flow. She lay there rested amongst the many pebbles that were brought in by the roaring waves. But in the silence, she hears the waves with its humdrum roars. There was a moment, a precious blank canvas. That moment where it was time to simply unlearn.

The Noon Siestas

On the lazy shore of Bambolim beach, many enjoy an afternoon siesta.The children are engaged in their game of football during the sweltering hours and the fishermen are tempted by the aroma of freshly grilled Sagoti at a nearby shack. The colorful fishing boats retire to the earth’s shore for the seas have tired them with a journey.

Remembrances of an Effort

And as tall as one stands, the St Augustine’s Tower is one of the most spectacular of all monuments in Goa. The 46m-high tower built of laterite served as a belfry and formed part of the façade of a
Church. Of what was once, that tower is a remembrance of the efforts that our ancestors built, The Augustinian Monastery.

Wild Spirited in Vogue

In the wide open fields of freedom, there’s a you who lives free, never to be defined by others. Assumptions of many others are dust on the windows of your souls. You discover you’re radiant when you let the sun shine in.

She wears her braids the way she wants, her dab of lipstick, flowers in her hair. She strides in her blue jumpsuit, nonchalant of how she’s striking in the world of many monotones.

The defiant shadows crawl on her, but she’s free spirted as she strolls in her skirt and her hair’s charmed by the cool coins.

She feels a world to herself is pure as a white tunic. Her eyes are open doors, but her soul rings of freedom. Deep down, her thoughts wait willingly in it.
