]]>JLO brought Bridgerton to life this past weekend in the Hamptons, where she threw an amazing event to celebrate turning 55. The celebration featured a live orchestra and a horse-drawn carriage, among other features more commonly found at social gatherings in the early 1800s. Naturally, Lady Whistletown was not prepared for the glitzy Regency-era attire either.
In her first ensemble designed by Manish Malhotra, she looked downright royal in a stunning light blue ball gown with a bodice piece that had off-the-shoulder cuffs and gilded diamond-shaped embroidery. The gown was worn over a full skirt that was embroidered with larger-than-life gold floral motifs.
Lopez wore few accessories and let the dress do the talking because of how grand the ensemble was. She chose stud earrings, a basic pendant necklace, and sheer white opera gloves. She had a gold laurel crown in her hair.
Jennifer transformed into something a bit more fluid later in the evening, which made it easier for her to move around the dance floor and interact with other attendees. This second dress was a gauzy moss-green number with a sequined floral bust, and it too had an off-the-shoulder neckline.

He is only British by lineage, but every part of him is Indian. Legendary author Ruskin Bond was born and raised in British India and after falling in love with it, went on to make the country his home for ever. There is nary a soul who has known the hills of Dehradun better than him.
A lover of words, Ruskin grew up a shy and lonely boy in the Himalayan Mountains of Shimla and Dehradun. Surrounded by nature, his love for words made him an author. He recreated his childhood and world in Dehra in his stories, most notable in children’s books. Winner of the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1992, he has been honoured by the Indian Council for Child Education for his contribution in children’s literature. He went on to win the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan in 1999 and 2014 respectively.
Though he spent some time in the UK for his higher education and early years of work, Ruskin returned to India, realising that his heart belonged to Dehradun. He has always written prolifically, where his writings reflect his experiences of having gone through the colonial, post-colonial, and post-independence phases of India.
He wrote his first novel The Room On The Roof at the age of 17, which got published when he was 21. Apart from dabbling in semi-autobiographical work like The Room on The Roof and its sequel Vagrants in The Valley, Ruskin also tinkered with supernatural fiction through works like Ghost Stories From The Raj, A Season of Ghosts, and A Face In The Dark And Other Hauntings. With an oeuvre of more than 500 short stories, essays, and novels, including more than 50 children’s books; Ruskin has his name etched among the literary masters in India.
The acclaimed author has been living in his house called Ivy Cottage in Mussourie since 1980. Here’s wishing him several more years of health, happiness, and great writing!

Kalpana Chawla, an Indian-American astronaut as well as the first Indian woman to travel to space, she would have turned 56 today if not for that fateful accident on February 1, 2003 when Space Shuttle Columbia perished upon entry to the earth’s atmosphere leading to her death and six other astronauts. She is a role model for an entire generation of women in India as well as around the world.
Born on 17 March 1962, Kalpana Chawla will always be remembered for her inspiring and incredible journey from being born in Karnal – a city in India’s Haryana state to becoming an astronaut with America’s space exploration agency NASA, where she finally fulfilled her dream of reaching out to the stars. Kalpana earned not one but two Master’s degrees and, in 1986, pursued a doctorate program from the University of Colorado. In the year 1994, she became an astronaut candidate and represented the Astronaut Office EVA/Robotics and Computer Branches, testing software for the space shuttles. Kalpana first went to space in 1997 aboard the spaceship Columbia as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator, which made 252 orbits around the earth. It also deployed a satellite, which Kalpana was responsible for. She was then selected again for another space voyage in 2000, but due to the project being delayed, her mission began only in 2003. Kalpana joined a crew of seven, which included Ilan Ramon, Israel’s first astronaut. On February 1, the space shuttle was intended to land at the Kennedy Space Center when disaster struck.
One Interesting fact about Kalpana’s name is that her parents never gave her a formal name but nicknamed her ‘Montu’. She picked her formal name at age three when she was brought to a nursery school by her aunt. The principal asked her name to which her aunt replied: “We have three names in our mind – Kalpana, Jyotsna and Sunaina.” When the principal asked her to pick a name she chose Kalpana.
Kalpana is a Sanskrit word that means “creativity” and “imagination” in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi and Nepali. It may also refer to: Kalpana (imagination), a Vedantic view. As the name suggests, with her level of creativity and imagination, she surely was a force to reckon with and will remain as an inspiration.

]]>The post 6 best Disney Movies of all time – A Tribute on Mr.Disney’s 116th Birthday appeared first on FWD Life | The Premium Lifestyle Magazine |.

Happy heavenly Birthday to Walt Disney! American entrepreneur, animator, voice actor, and film producer, Mr.Disney, as a pioneer of the American animation industry, introduced many developments in the history of film making.
As a tribute, we bring to you a list of 6 movies that we loved and recommend to you if you haven’t already watched it (which we’re sure is highly impossible).
A helpless little deer is born by the name of Bambi. He is born among the forest to a grateful Mother. Bambi meets some animal friends for himself, A rabbit named Thumper and a skunk named Flower. Bambi falls in love while he grows up along side his friends. The troubles of the wild life strike when a hunter kills Bambi’s mother. The troubles of the emotional for every animal in the forest. A beautiful ending concludes this masterpiece.
This Disney movie has been passed from one generation to another. “Bambi” captures your heart and it’s one of those movies you can’t wait for your own children to see, and then they pass it down to their children and so on. Just make sure you have a box of tissues next to you while you watch it.
Two dogs and a cat travel 250 miles through the Canadian wilderness after being separated from their humans. Along the way they encounter harsh elements and non-domesticated creatures, such as bears, that they must flee and sometimes fight. The cat gets lost (who knows, maybe the dogs conspired to ditch it) and nearly starves to death, but they all make it home by the end. With three animals as leads, though, the lingering logistical question remains: HOW DID THEY EVEN MAKE THIS?
Every kid’s favorite fantasy is the one about possessing secret power or information, resulting in an urgent task that will allow the child to be The Only One Who’s Right and triumph over whatever adversity stands in her or his way. The kids in this wickedly exciting adventure are not only telekinetic and telepathic, they’re also aliens who have to flee some bad people to get home to their superior race of extraterrestrial beings. So it’s perfect. *grabs popcorn*
Yes, yes, “Hakuna Matata” to you too, but for all the fun to be had in The Lion King, it’s the melodrama that really stands the test of time: jealousy, betrayal, and a young hero whose self-doubt threatens a kingdom. For young audiences in the early 1990s, this was a revelation in Disney animation. One of Disney’s biggest hits, The saga of Simba, which in its deeply buried origins owes something to Greek tragedy and certainly to “Hamlet,” is a learning experience as well as an entertainment.
The horror: a child’s first step towards independence, after years of overprotective parenting, are met with disaster when Nemo – a little clownfish – gets fishnapped by an overzealous scuba diver. Now Marlin must conquer his own fears and traverse the whole flipping ocean to save his son. This film is so overwhelmingly emotional you almost forget to wonder at its many visual marvels: the inside of a whale, a breathtaking mid-air pelican chase, and a cast of wonderfully colorful characters who make one of Disney’s most intense motion pictures a joy for the whole family.
From the company that turned a mouse – that scurrying thing that shot your grandmother on top of a chair, holding a broom for dear life – into a national hero, comes the story of a rat. In the hilarious new animated-adventure, Ratatouille, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. Remy finds himself torn between following his dreams or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.
Here’s to the man who changed millions of lives with his ideas and gifted us with an amazing childhood to cherish for a lifetime – Walt Disney.
