Oorali, a genre-defying band from Kerala, has voiced against the body shaming comments aired on Badai Bangalow hosted by actor cum MLA Mukesh and Ramesh Pisharody. The Oorali team took their Facebook page to announce that they will soon come out witth a proper reply to MLA Mukesh. They have clearly stated that it will not be any attempt to mock him or insult him but only to let him realize “how we became us and how you bacame you”.

The Facebook post by Oorali begins with a hashtag, #stopbodyshaming. The link to the episode of Badai Bangalow has also been shared through the post. The post is followed with a brief and witty description about the actor who is also the current MLA of Kollam constituency, also being sarcastic about the show’s content. Oorali is unwilling to ignore the impudent remarks aired on the show about people who choose to carry themselves the way they want to. They also remind Mukesh that he will have to respond to their reply.

Mukesh and his co-host Pisharody passes insulting remarks about people who grow out their beard and hair in the episode. The episode clearly mocks the band and its members for their physical appearance. The song “Thaadivalarthum Meeshavalarthum” by Ooorali which was featured in the film Mexican Aparatha is the song that is presented in the show in an attempt to generate humor. The Malayalam poem “thummaruth” by Kadamminitta Ramakrishnan, a leftist poet and a former MLA is also presented in a disgraceful manner in the episode.

Badai Bangalow has earlier faced various criticisms for the inappropriate remarks on the show, which at many occasions proved to be racist, on physical appearance or against women. Meanwhile, the Oorali fans are eagerly waiting for their reply to Mukesh and to see how they are set to bash the popular TV show.

Earlier the week lot of speculations rose regarding the show, Badai Bungalow going off air. It all started when the host of the show Ramesh Pisharody posted a emotional message on his official Facebook page confirming the conclusion of the show. He addressed his audiences in a long message and thanked them for the overwhelming support throughout the running of the show. He continued to thank the channel (Asianet) who has been a irreplaceable part in his 15 year long career.

Soon after Arya, the actress who plays the role of Pisharody’s wife in the show took to social media to express her feelings regarding the finale of the show. She wrote:

(Since I made a post few days back regarding a heart breaking coming soon from my side all of you have been making so many guesses… But most of the them got it absolutely right…. Finally as the main man has made an official declaration though his social media account now I can go ahead and do it as well….. As I had told earlier… Some journeys… As far as I am concerned, my life’s most beautiful journey has finally come to an end. I never ever In my wildest dreams had imagined myself as a comedian or an artist who can portray comedy in front of huge bunch of audience…. But God had the most weirdest yet an absolutely wonderful plan for me…. All well written and framed… Starting with all thanks to the Almighty for I never knew that he had such an amazing faith written on my head and I feel every bit amazing about what he had in stock for me… (sic))

Fans of the show soon expressed via comments on Pisharody’s and Arya’s Facebook posts about how unhappy and upset they were with the channel’s decision. But few days back the show makers of Badai Bungalow and the channel have confirmed the show will not be ending. However the show will go on a hiatus to accomadate the Bigg Boss Malayalam in the slot. The show will be renewed for a second season with a complete makeover after the conclusion of Bigg Boss. The officials further added that they do not plan to end a show with great TRP.
Badai Bungalow is one unique talk show the Malayalam Television has ever seen. The show follows an interesting and never seen before talk show format. Comedian Ramesh Pisharodi who is the host of the show plays the role of a tenant living in the Badai Bunglow  which is owned by Actor Mukesh. On each episode Pisharody invites celebrities from film, television or music to the show and interviews them in a fun format. There are other actors in the show who play different characters and engage in conversation with the guests. Badai Banglow has been well praised and saw huge success to engage with the audiences since the beginning of the show.
