]]>In the world of fashion, where flamboyance and opulence often take center stage, a new trend has quietly emerged, captivating the attention of celebrities, billionaires, and fashion enthusiasts alike. Known as “Quiet Luxury,” this viral and ultra-expensive fashion trend is causing waves in the industry, challenging the conventional notions of wealth display and style.
While many high-end luxury brands are known for their ostentatious and eye-catching designs, ‘Quiet Luxury’ takes a different approach. It revolves around the concept of dressing in understated, label-less clothing that exudes an aura of sophistication and exclusivity, despite its seemingly ordinary appearance. This trend has gained significant traction over the past few months, with influential figures embracing its allure.
So, what exactly is ‘Quiet Luxury’? At its core, it is a form of subtle wealth display, where the wealthiest individuals meticulously curate their attire with understated tones, simple cuts, and an absence of prominent logos. These seemingly unassuming garments, however, come with exorbitant price tags, often costing a small fortune.
One notable incident that brought ‘Quiet Luxury’ into the spotlight was Gwyneth Paltrow’s appearance in court, clad in an impeccably tailored but discreet pantsuit. This choice perfectly exemplified the essence of ‘Quiet Luxury,’ showcasing the ability to convey elegance and affluence without resorting to overt displays of wealth.
The appeal of ‘Quiet Luxury’ lies in its ability to provide billionaires with a paradoxical blend of ordinariness and exclusivity. By adorning themselves in seemingly commonplace clothing, these individuals are able to blend in with the masses while exuding an air of refinement and extravagance. The garments they choose may appear unassuming to the untrained eye, but their true worth is hidden in the finest craftsmanship, luxurious materials, and meticulous attention to detail.
One prime example of this trend can be found in the wardrobe of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, often seen sporting plain white or grey t-shirts that carry a hefty price tag. Such minimalistic pieces become the epitome of ‘Quiet Luxury,’ encapsulating the allure of hidden opulence within simplicity.
While ‘Quiet Luxury’ is not an entirely novel concept, its popularity has surged in recent times. The trend offers a safe and non-risky approach to fashion, favoring monochrome palettes, classic cuts, and timeless styles that are unlikely to fade away. This makes ‘Quiet Luxury’ an attractive option for those who seek to present themselves as both presentable and affluent, while also ensuring their fashion choices remain perpetually relevant.
In an era where ostentatious displays of wealth often dominate the fashion landscape, ‘Quiet Luxury’ stands as a captivating alternative, enticing the ultra-rich with its subtle allure. By embracing this trend, billionaires and celebrities alike have found a way to project their affluence with grace and sophistication, making a powerful statement without uttering a word.
As the influence of ‘Quiet Luxury’ continues to grow, we can only speculate on how this trend will shape the fashion industry in the coming years. Perhaps it will inspire a broader shift towards understated elegance and timeless style, encouraging individuals to redefine what it truly means to be fashionably wealthy.

Pioneers of Malayalam Cinema
The early years of Malayalam cinema were marked by the emergence of pioneers such as J. C. Daniel, who is considered the father of Malayalam cinema. His silent film Vigathakumaran, released in 1928, is considered the first Malayalam film ever made. However, it was not until the 1950s that the industry saw significant growth with the release of films such as Neelakuyil (1954), which went on to win the President’s Gold Medal.
The 1960s and 1970s were a golden era for Malayalam cinema, with the emergence of great filmmakers such as P. Bhaskaran, K. S. Sethumadhavan, and Adoor Gopalakrishnan. These filmmakers, along with talented actors like Prem Nazir, Sathyan, and Madhu, helped to establish Malayalam cinema as a serious player in the Indian film industry.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Malayalam cinema saw a new wave of filmmakers who brought a fresh and innovative approach to filmmaking. Directors such as Padmarajan, Bharathan, and I. V. Sasi made films that were realistic, socially relevant, and aesthetically pleasing. Actors like Mammootty and Mohanlal emerged as leading stars and went on to become some of the most respected and popular actors in India.
In the 21st century, Malayalam cinema has continued to grow and evolve, with the emergence of new and exciting talent. Directors such as Lijo Jose Pellissery, Dileesh Pothan, and Aashiq Abu have gained international recognition for their bold and unconventional films. Actors like Fahadh Faasil, Nivin Pauly, and Parvathy Thiruvothu have become household names and are recognized for their versatility and depth.
The growth of Malayalam cinema can also be attributed to the changing tastes and preferences of the audience. Today’s Malayalam cinema is characterized by its realism, strong narratives, and relatable characters. It is not just about entertainment, but also about addressing important social issues and sparking meaningful conversations.
Moreover, the growth of Malayalam cinema has been supported by advancements in technology, which have enabled filmmakers to experiment with new and innovative techniques. Digital cameras, editing software, and special effects have helped to enhance the visual appeal of Malayalam cinema and take it to new heights.
The growth of Malayalam cinema over the years has been a remarkable journey, marked by the emergence of great filmmakers, actors, and technicians. It is a testament to the industry’s resilience and commitment to excellence. Today, Malayalam cinema has a global appeal and is recognized for its unique voice and perspective. It is a shining example of the power of cinema to entertain, educate, and inspire.

Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the classic princess gown made a comeback with Prabal Gurung’s iteration for Bhatt. With a scooped neckline and back and a voluminous skirt, the entirety of the pearly white gown said angelic Chanel bride but with an edge. It was an absolute treat to see Bhatt bring this look to life with her effortless charm.
For the gala event, Bhatt drew inspiration from the final bridal look of Chanel’s Autumn-Winter 1992 Couture collection worn by Claudia Schiffer. And guess what? Pop sensation Dua Lipa wore the exact archival look to the Met Gala that served as inspiration on Bhatt’s mood board. It’s amazing how Bhatt managed to put her own spin on the look, adding a touch of her own creativity to it.
To add an Indian touch to her look, the actress customized her outfit with extra details of a white fingerless glove, custom-created by Indian brand Outhouse Jewellery. This signature element instantly screamed Lagerfeld, reminding us of his unparalleled fashion sense. It’s no surprise that with the elements in play, Bhatt’s look was nothing short of perfection.

]]>The post Reach Vs. Impressions : The Breakdown appeared first on FWD Life | The Premium Lifestyle Magazine |.
]]>In a nutshell, Reach is the number of people who see and view your content. It is unique and it does not change if a user comes back and views it again.
Impressions are the number of times your content is displayed across the platform, whether or not it is clicked. It is not unique; it can change if the user decides to view the same post again.
If you have 50 followers, ideally you would have 50 views, but unfortunately that’s not how the complex world of social media works.
So, What’s More Important?
Now that hopefully you have an inkling of what reach and impressions are, the next question is – What is more important? The short answer is You will have to work with both. You can’t have one without the other.
Facebook divides reach into 3 different categories.
Organic: The number of unique users that viewed your content in their feed.
Paid : The number of users that saw your paid content.
Viral : The number of users who saw your content due to engagement, such as putting someone else’s content on your story, which allows more people to see it. Engagement methods like liking, commenting, sharing and saving are also included in this.
Impressions are measured the same way, with the removal of unique users and allowing users to view the same content twice.
The Bigger Picture
Learning the distinction between reach and impressions can be hard, but not impossible. Once you get a hold of these two, you can shift your focus to the most important one of all : Engagement. A common goal behind every social media campaign is getting more engagement in the form of likes, comments, and shares. If you feel that engagement quality has declined, it is a indicator to work more on delivering better content.

Though Fargo‘s ambitious fourth season struggles to maintain momentum, fine performances and a change of scenery make for an engaging — if uneven — departure from the series’ norm.

Bristling with imagination and otherworldly imagery, Raised by Wolves is a bloody exploration of artificial intelligence and religious belief that will stimulate the eye and mind — if not the heart.

Tiger King: Season 1
A bizarre true crime story you have to see to believe, Tiger King is a messy and captivating portrait of obsession gone terribly wrong.
I am not okay with this: Season 1

The Supreme Court the recently dismissed a plea seeking to ban the book ‘Meesha’ (Moustache) written by S Hareesh, for allegedly depicting Hindu women visiting temples in derogatory light, saying “craftsmanship of a writer deserves to be respected”. The judgment was pronounced by a bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud, who said ‘the writer’s imagination must enjoy freedom’. The bench added that “subjective perceptions about a book should not be allowed to enter legal arena when it comes to censorship”.
The court assured that it would safeguard the free flow of ideas in a democracy by quoting Voltaire’s “I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” The court said the judiciary should remain committed to keeping the flag of democratic values and ideals of freedom and liberty flying high. “We live not in a totalitarian regime but in a democratic nation, which permits free exchange of ideas and liberty,” Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, who authored the judgment, observed.
The order came on the plea filed by Delhi resident N Radhakrishnan, who sought a direction to delete certain portions from a novel by S Hareesh as it allegedly defamed temple going Hindu women. Centre and the Kerala government had also opposed the petition saying free speech should not be curtailed. The petitioner had objected to a dialogue between two characters in the novel, which allegedly insults Hindu women, and projects them in bad light.

]]>Text Credits : Shibul Pavithran
A young man from Kochi who is well and truly alive was shown as ‘dead’ by Rajasthan police in their social media campaign to caution people against ‘KiKi’ challenge. The man shown by them, Jawahar Subhash Chandra is both amused and traumatised by the events of the past few days in his life, at one place the news of his death might have be saddening but the fact that he is become famous overnight makes up for it.
The ad had a picture of Jawahar which was garlanded. Beneath the picture was written “In loving memory of KK. Loving Boyfriend to KiKi, died while doing the shiggy. (February 1995 – July 2018).”
His picture is displayed on the social media account in a photo frame with a garland below which is the message: Don’t challenge death. Be wise – keep away from silly stunts & advise your friends as well to stay safe and this initiative by the Jaipur police (along with Jawahar’s photo) was flashed on all TV channels and other media to warn people about the perils of the KiKi challenge – which involves jumping out of a moving car and dancing to American rapper Drake’s ‘In My Feelings’.
Since then Jawahar’s phone has not stopped ringing. The first phone call was from his wife after spotting the social media post of Jaipur police. “On Wednesday morning when I reached office, I started receiving calls from people I hadn’t kept in touch with in years asking me if I was okay. This was when I saw the ad,” says the amused 30-year-old.
Soon enough, a story was published in the Times of India where Jawahar works in the response department. This went viral and Jawahar’s phone began lighting up constantly with calls.
“If I leave my phone for an hour I get about 6-7 missed calls from people, sometimes old friends. Even my parents are getting calls asking if I am okay. The fact that people thought I died even helped me revive a few old friendships,” he says with a chuckle. He said he didn’t even know about this whole Kiki challenge that the whole world is going crazy about. He did see some people dancing on Whatsapp forwarded videos from past few days, but had no understanding about the challenge until he saw his garlanded picture on the ad. But now he is aware about Drake’s song In my Feelings and the whole hullabaloo about the KiKi challenge. “What surprises me is that the police department of a random state featured me in their official campaign. I have never even been to Jaipur, you know,” he says with astonishment.
Even after being told that Jawahar is alive Jaipur Police justified itself. Commissioner Sanjay Agarwal acknowledged that Jawahar is alive but defended the use of his photo in the campaign in which he has been shown ‘dead’ saying, “It is not illegal. Our social media team has bought the photo from a website.” “We use many models for Tobacco ads and cancer ads and show them on their death beds. It doesn’t mean that they are dying. This was just a public awareness campaign to give people a jolt and ask them not to do such silly things. This wasn’t done to hurt anyone. We wish him (the model) all the best and a long life ahead,” the Commissioner added.
Check out the original video of the song which was released by Drake just three days back on YouTube.
